There is a new tool to report a phishing email to Technology Services. A Phish Alert Icon is now on the Outlook Home Tab. The icon is an open envelope with a slip of paper and a reddish-orange fishhook.
Please use the new tool to report phishing emails! After the Phish Alert Report tool is used, the email will be deleted from the Inbox and sent to Technology Services.
The tool is available in all Outlook versions: the desktop app; via any web browser; and on the MAC OS Outlook app. In each version, the tool icon looks the same, but the location is a little bit different. Please see below.
Using the Desktop Outlook App
- Click to preview the email
- The Phish Alert Icon appears on the ribbon
- If the email is a phishing email, click on the Phish Alert Icon
- The email will be deleted from the Inbox and sent to Technology Services
On the Home Tab
On the top right of the Home tab

If so, click on the Phish Alert button at the bottom
Using Outlook via any web browser
- Click to preview the email
- In the preview screen, click on the ellipsis (the three dots) for More Actions in the email preview pane
- Scroll down to find; then, click on the Phish Alert Report Icon
- The email will be deleted from the Inbox and sent to Technology Services
Click to show the email in the message preview window
Click on the ellipsis (three dots) in the preview window to bring up the More Actions List
Note: The three dots (ellipsis) in the menu bar do NOT offer the Phish Alert Tool
If the email address is too long and the Phish Alert Tool is not visible, click on the three dots, ellipsis, in the preview window to open Apps.

If so, click on the Phish Alert button at the bottom
Note:
Please do NOT use the Shield Icon on the menu bar to report phishing emails.
