Phishing emails are often sent by malicious cybercriminals in an attempt to obtain your personal information, passwords, account numbers, etc. to use for nefarious purposes and gain access to systems to which only you should have access.

  • To identify an email that did NOT come from WWCC:
    • Look for the word CAUTION: in the subject line or the gold banner at the top of the body of the email stating that the email did NOT originate from WWCC.

At WWCC:

Tips to detect a phishing email:

  • Misspelled words and poor grammar are often indicators an email may be suspicious
  • Generic greetings:  Dear Sir or Madam
  • Don't click on any suspicious links or open unexpected attachments
